Microscope slides can vary greatly in quality and type. The most common glass slides are made of green glass with finished/polished or beveled edges. These are considered optical quality glass and are made from soda lime glass or borosilicate glass.
White glass slides are made of the highest quality glass yielding the least amount of imperfections. They are used in areas where the most critical diagnosis or applications are demanded. These are the ideal surface for tissue and cell adhesion which is less time consuming time and thus money savings.
