The GEM Engraving Series of professional gemological microscopes are based on Meiji Techno EM Series stereo microscope bodies. These gem stereoscopes have earned Meiji Techno a great reputation for excellent optics, rugged dependability, versatility, and economy that no other manufacturer can match. Choose from zoom bodies or turret bodies mounted on an articulating gem stand that offers powerful illumination suitable for photomicrography. All models are available in either 110V or 220/240V. All GEM Series microscopes come with dust covers, and rubber eyeshields.
The EMZ-5TR trinocular zoom body is used for photography and video applications. When the beamsplitter is engaged, 100% of the light from the left optical path is directed to the phototube. The image can still be viewed through the right eyetube. The EMZ-5TR employs greenough optics for improved image flatness and contrast. The EMZ-5TR offers high resolution erect unreversed stereoscopic image. In addition to its compact design and versatility, a wide variety of auxiliary lenses and stands are available to allow the user to customize their desired working distance to adapt to almost any application. Photomicrography made easy with over 300 available digital, analog and SLR camera adapters.

Meiji Auxiliary lenses can be added to EM Series microscope bodies simply by screwing them into the threads below the objectives. They can either increase or decrease total magnification, but they are frequently used to increase the working distance of the microscope.
Auxiliary lenses with magnifications less than 1x increase the distance at which the microscope will focus on a specimen, and lenses with magnifications greater than 1x will decrease the distance. However, this is particularly useful for users who need to work with their hands under a microscope.
The MA305/100 fluorescent illuminator provides cool, white diffused illumination similar to to daylight, and is suitable for low magnification examination for surface details of delicate organisms that sensitive to heat, or for specimens with such surface reflection. It provides 360° of cool white shadow-free illumination. Lightweight, compact, rugged.
